Yavornytsky Historical Museum in Dnipropetrovsk
D. Yavornitsky Historical Museum in Dnepropetrovsk was founded in 1849 and is one of the oldest museums in Ukraine. At the root of the Yavornitsky Historical Museum in Dnepropetrovsk were the local leaders - A. Fabre, who was the governor of the province Ekaterinoslav and J. Grahov, who was a director of the gymnasium edge . A great contribution to the development of the museum did: a connoisseur and collector of stories, Paul A. and scientist, Academician D. Yavornytsky.
Its atmosphere will provide a glimpse into the past, feel the spirit of the past Ukraine and uniqueness of each historical period, the inextricable link between generations. In the halls of the museum you can see the 7000 exhibits telling the history of the region from ancient times to the mid-twentieth century. Among them are the real rarities: the world-famous Kernosovsky Idol III millennium BC. Oe., statue of Pharaoh Ramses VI with the names, Chumak's cart and coach for the travel times of Catherine II to the South.
Over the past five years at the Yavornytsky Historical Museum in Dnepropetrovsk exhibited the exhibition of firearms and bladed weapons, archaeological sites, Petrikov painting, embroidery, icons, Egyptian antiquities, the materials on the history of mail, supplies, telling about the honorable citizens of Yekaterinoslav-Dnepropetrovsk.
