Eurovision host city announcement delayed again
Kiev, Odessa and Dnipro are the main contenders for holding Eurovision-2017 competition, which will take place in Ukraine next year.
The organizing committee of the international competition of pop song Eurovision-2017 has postponed announcement a city, which will host the competition. On 25th August the briefing of announcement of a city-winner was cancelled. It is reported on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The mayor of Dnipro – one of the cities of applicants for holding Eurovision – Boris Filatov noted in Facebook that announcement of winner can take place next week and he complained that it is already fourth delay.
On June 24 the National TV company announced a competition among the cities on holding Eurovision-2017. Applicants were submitted by Lviv, Kiev, Odessa, Dnipro, Kharkiv and Kherson.
On July 22 the final of the competition to hold the Eurovision-2017 was reached by Kiev, Odessa and Dnipro.
Before organizers promised to announce the host city of Eurovision-2017 on August 1st.
We will recall that on May 15 Ukrainian singer Jamala with the song «1944», devoted to deportation of Crimean Tatar people, won the song competition Eurovision-2016 in Stockholm that defined holding the competition in 2017 in Ukraine.
